Today's lesson... Shoppers, or at least the Shoppers on Main St. in Fredericton, does not do overage and therefore can not accept a coupon that is worth more than the price of the item. For example, Purex was on sale for $2.99 and I had a $3 coupon. Try as she might, the cashier could not override the computer which would not accept the coupon for more than the listed price. Very disappointing and frustrating.
Update... apparently most people I have talked to have had this same problem and have been told that if they were to buy something else, the overage could be applied to it. They can not close out a transaction with a negative balance and will not adjust a coupon. Very disappointing.
